The story
A philosophy of gathering
We believe the future is made around shared tables. Put artists, chefs, retreat leaders, hoteliers and gallerists in one room and conversations turn into collaborations.
Every evening is set among original work from the residency's artists, so the table sits inside a living gallery.
Who it's for
A table worth joining
For boutique hotel owners
Find the artist your walls have been waiting for, and the chefs and makers you could bring into your own space. Everything in the room was made here, and everything in it is available.
For retreat leaders & wellness practitioners
Meet the facilitators, musicians and ceremony holders you would actually want to work with, over a meal rather than a pitch.
For galleries & curators
Local and international makers, most of them working here for the season, with their newest work on the walls the day it is finished.
For art lovers & conscious travellers
Good food, honest conversation, and a real exhibition you can walk with the person who made it standing beside you.
The evenings
Each evening, a different artist
Each artist has their own night. Their work goes up that day and stays for the rest of the residency, so the room holds more art every evening than the one before, and the artist who made it is at the table with you.

The kitchen
Who is cooking
The chef changes every few days, so the table tastes a different hand across the series and each chef gets a room of their own to cook for. Three are confirmed, and more are coming.

15 to 17 August
Lucia Maria
With an artist's eye and a chef's intuition, Lucia Maria turns plant-based ingredients into a playful dance of textures and flavours that invites you to travel through every bite.

18, 25 and 26 August
Katherine Shapiro
Nourishing, first and last
Half Japanese, and as much at home in bodywork as in the kitchen, Kat cooks food that nourishes: seasonal, grounding, and built to balance the body's energy rather than sit on top of it.
Kat grew up between two food cultures, and took the same instinct from both: quality over quantity, and a meal as the thing that gathers people. Years of yoga, bodywork and ayurvedic practice taught the rest, that food is either working with the body or against it.
Much of what reaches the plate is grown, gathered or found close by, so the season writes the menu and not the other way round. Baking and sweets are part of that too, all of it made without sugar and without anything refined, the sweetness coming from the ingredient itself.

21 to 23 August
Kel Délice
eARTh to plate
Kel Délice turns plant-based cuisine into a vibrant sensory journey, weaving storytelling, colour, tropical flavours and a playful kick into every dish.
Born on Mauritius, Kelly grew up eating the most vibrant, fresh and flavourful foods. Cooking is the way through which she tells her life story.
She has travelled to many continents to expand her knowledge and create the most magical, yet simple recipes. Sharing her art is the way she pours her love into others, one plate at a time.
The experience
We will turn up the frequency of the space with a pre-dinner meditation, followed by storytelling throughout the dinner. For the adventurous, you will discover one dish blindfolded, to fully immerse into the sense of taste.
The voice of the evening
Who holds the room
Beside the artist and the chef there is a third person at the table: whoever carries the ceremony, the music or the performance that night. They eat with everyone else rather than playing to the room, so you meet them over dinner. These are the evenings settled so far, and more are coming.

15 August
Ana Pomar
Opening ceremony and song
Woman, artist, mother. Portuguese.
Devoted to beauty, to the Earth, to creation. Creator of art as an offering to life.
Visual artist, medicine singer and songwriter, ceremonialist, curator of sacred spaces of art and healing. Guardian of Jardim de Tonantzin, an eco cultural and wellbeing venue in Alentejo.
Ana is a composer of love songs to life, offerings of gratitude to the source. Songs of healing, songs of remembrance. Songs to awaken ancient memory, woven from whispers of the forces of nature.
The evening
She opens the evening with an opening ceremony, and shares her voice again after dinner.

22 August
Serafina
Dance and Beauty
Dance journey guide and Prayerformance artist
Devoted to ritual arts and trance dance, to enter higher states of consciousness.
Serafina embodies a prayer which channels life force energy and invites us into states of ecstasy and remembrance of the power we hold within our bodies as our sacred vessel.
The evening
She is at the residency twice that day: the life model for the afternoon's life drawing, and the dance at the table in the evening.
